FAIR GO KEV

Give us digital now

We need digital now.

To ensure long-term survival, C31 must be given the opportunity to simulcast now. C31 does not receive any government funding and generates 80% of revenue through sponsorship marketing. To maintain this self-sufficient position, it is vital to maintain healthy audience numbers.

The government is running a $140 million campaign encouraging people to make the switch to digital. If successful, this will significantly reduce C31's audience numbers and undermine the station's ablility to generate revenue.

C31 provides a vital service to the community - at no cost to the taxpayer.

There is a simple solution available.

Three channels on the digital spectrum remain unused in Melbourne. Allocating one of these channels to C31 would be a low-cost solution.

It would bring certainty to the future of C31 and allow community TV in Melbourne to build on a vibrant and vital past.
