Digital TV
HOW TO still get c31 !
Can you watch C31 with a set top box?
Why sure you can, just takes a little elbow grease is all!
So your set top box is installed and working, you’re probably enjoying crystal clear pictures even as we speak. Well that means the cable from the antenna on your roof is plugged into the back of the set top box and you’ve most likely got three RCA cables (Yellow, red and white) running into you telly. Now you’d also probably know that to watch the digital channels you need the TV to be on one of the AV channels. Are we on the same page? Great! This means there’s still plenty of room to get C31!
If you want to watch C31 but you’ve already got a digital set top box,
here’s a few easy steps to follow to get C31 back on your telly:
1. Your Digital Set Top Box (DSTB) and TV should already be set up for watching digital TV.
2. You will need an 'RF LEAD' (also sometimes known as a 'FLY LEAD'). You might not have been provided with one when you bought your set-top box; but these cables are quite commonly available. You may already have one to connect your tv and vcr / dvd player.
3. On your set top box, locate the 'RF OUT' (sometimes identified as 'PASSTHROUGH'). It is usually located next to the 'RF IN'.
4. Locate the 'RF IN' port on your television.
5. Join the 'RF OUT in your set-top-box with the 'RF IN' on your TV, using the 'RF CABLE'.
6. You shouldn’t need to retune your TV, but if you do just hit the 'MENU' button on your remote and find the automatic tuning section, usually referred to as 'AUTO PROGRAM'. This will find all the analogue stations available, including C31.
Now you’ll find that when you’re not using the AV channels on the TV, C31, along with all the other free-to-air stations, will be right where you left them before you got your digital set top box. (This can also be good when your digital channels break up because the analogue versions generally won’t. So if you’re in the middle of an important show and the digital signal goes out, you can just switch back to analogue to enjoy it.)
